One of our earlier assignments this term was to created five original postcards using Photoshop. I had a really good time creating these, so instead of putting them into a montage of all five, I decided to showcase each of them in a different post. To the best of my knowledge, all images used in all five of these postcards are free to use with modification and without attribution. If I am in error and I’ve infringed on someone’s copyright, please let me know and I’ll take appropriate action.
This particular card is my favorite. It’s an nod to one of my favorite artists, Rene Magritte. He did a few paintings where a house would be painted as a night scene, but the sky would be daytime (or visa versa). Check out L’empire des lumières (1954) or La maison des rêves.
